FC Utrecht brings Ter Avest back to Dutch Premier League on transfer from A Series

Utrecht has brought Hidde ter Avest back to the Eredivisie. The former right back of FC Twente comes over from the Italian Udinese, where he was sidelined. If he passes the medical examination tomorrow, Ter Avest will sign a contract until the summer of 2024. Ter Avest had an ongoing contract in Italy but was allowed to leave on a transfer free basis.

Ter Avest started the season in Udine with many playing minutes, but since the end of October he only played eighteen minutes in Serie A, spread over two league matches. Ter Avest was under contract with the Italians from the summer of 2018.

At Utrecht the 23-year-old player is reunited with coach René Hake, with whom he already worked at Twente. Ter Avest will compete with experienced Dutchman Mark van der Maarel in Domstad. Giovanni Troupée is therefore allowed to leave. .

The current number ten of the Eredivisie will have to do without Eljero Elia in the coming weeks. The 33-year-old winger was forced off after just 35 minutes against FC Groningen (2-2) last weekend and is struggling with a hamstring injury.
