Keeper Sem Westerveld makes his professional debut, also a first in the Kluivert family.

Doelman Sem Westerveld of Jong AZ has made his debut in professional football. The 18-year-old son of former international Sander Westerveld appeared at the kick-off in the lost first division match of the Alkmaarders with Roda JC (0-1).

"I talked to my dad beforehand, yeah. He gave a few tips," Westerveld junior told ESPN after the lost game, in which he distinguished himself with a few rescues. "Nice debut, just too bad about the result. I got a goal against, but I think I did well."

Sander Westerveld had a rich goalie career. He played for FC Twente successively. Vitesse, Liverpool, Real Sociedad, Real Mallorca, Portsmouth, Everton, Almerìa, Sparta, Monza and Ajax Cape Town.

Also a first in the Kluivert family

Besides Westerveld there was also great news for the Kluivert family. Defender Ruben Kluivert of Jong FC Utrecht, the son of former international Patrick Kluivert, scored his first goal as a professional


Kluivert was in the home game with FC Den Bosch (3-1) responsible for the third goal of Jong Utrecht.
