Ten Hag self-aware for Liverpool: 'Ajax is stronger than last month'.

Ajax trainer Erik ten Hag looks forward with a fit selection and full of confidence to the Champions League game with Liverpool on Tuesday night. "Liverpool is favorite, they're at the top of the Premier League and his champion. But we're confident and we'll go for it."

Daley Blind was absent from the game with FC Emmen (5-0) on Saturday, but travelled to England with him. Ryan Gravenberch, Noussair Mazraoui and Davy Klaassen also had small question marks after the game with Emmen, but these have been erased.

"We brought a fit selection. Everyone is on board, after the training we draw our conclusions", says Ten Hag.

Ajax stronger than last month

The Ajax coach believes his team is now stronger than in the first game against Liverpool, last month in Amsterdam, when Ajax lost 1-0.

"We are better attuned to each other, the form is growing with a number of players and the team performs better as a result", says Ten Hag.

Well, the coach took a lesson from the previous game: "If we had been a little braver then, there would have been more. We created opportunities, but we didn't finish. And we could have created more chances if we'd been a little braver."

For Liverpool, a draw is enough to qualify for the eighth finals. For Ajax it is still possible in all directions. Even in the event of a defeat, the next round is within reach, because mutual results are decisive. In the event of a victory next week in the home game against Atalanta Bergamo, overwintering in the Champions League is a fact anyway.
