Vitesse has two winter additions in one day. The Arnhemmers, the current number four in the premier league, have managed to snare Dominik Oroz and Noah Ohio. Both come from a Red Bull club.
Oroz, a 20-year-old defender from Croatia, comes from the network of trainer Thomas Letsch and technical director Johannes Spors. The Germans have a past at RB Salzburg, where Oroz played in the youth.
The right-legged central defender of 1.92 meters long has been playing since early 2019 for FC Liefering, which is owned by RB Salzburg and competes at the second level in Austria.
"With the arrival of Dominik we have double both central defensive positions," explains Spors. "In addition, we'll get Dominik for the future." Oroz signed a contract for 2.5 years with an option for another season.
The other asset has a special past. The 17-year old striker Ohio, who will be hired for a year and a half from RB Leipzig, played in the youth of amateur club FC Almere and left for the academy of Manchester United.
He left United behind and went to play for fellow townsman and archrival Manchester City. From 2019 he is under contract with Leipzig. "Noah is widely seen as a great talent," says Spors.
"With his speed and strength he possesses important weapons that can make a team unpredictable and better. At the same time, it's a young player, who we're giving time to get up to the level."
The young attacker played youth international for both the Netherlands and England.
In the special Studio Sport broadcast 'Highly Missed Audience', writer Marcel van Roosmalen in his own way brought a hymn of praise to the public at sports matches: "Vites teaches football".
